About the Foundation:

The National Foundation for the Deaf promotes the rights, interests and welfare of over 880,000 New Zealanders with hearing loss, supported by a highly regarded membership base of consumer and professional hearing-health organisations.

The Foundation’s vision is a world where hearing and listening is valued; the consequences of hearing loss are understood; people with hearing disorders and disability can lead fulfilling lives; and the impact of hearing loss is reduced through access to treatments, technology and social support.

About you and the role:

The National Foundation for the Deaf is looking for a dynamic all-rounder who is keen to build their career in the social profit sector. You will work closely with the senior management team to achieve all fundraising and administrative objectives to a high quality and to given deadlines. You’ll be project-driven with excellent organisation skills – and not afraid to pick up the phone!

You will be responsible for:

  • 1.

    Phone and email communication with our supporters and members of the public – responding to information and guidance/advice requests

  • 2.

    Donation processing and receipting

  • 3.

    Completing the annual grant application schedule, and ensuring accountability reports are completed and submitted on time

  • 4.

    Ensuring the donor database is consistently clean and accurate

  • 5.

    Supporting national event planning and management

  • 6.

    Keeping awareness of the Foundation’s work at a high level through social media and digital communications

  • 7.

    Providing general administration and operational support to the senior management team

Key skills required:

  • 1.

    Exceptional time-management and organisational skills

  • 2.

    General administration coordination experience

  • 3.

    Marketing, fundraising or communications coordination experience

  • 4.

    Customer or donor relationship stewardship experience

  • 5.

    Highly developed communication skills

  • 6.

    High attention to details and accuracy

  • 7.

    Excellent interpersonal skills
