To suppport persons who are deaf or hard of hearing with their studies at a tertiary level.
The applicant will be studying at a recognised post secondary institution.
There is no age limit.
Course fees, books, interpreters, note-takers and extra tuition etc
be a New Zealand citizen or have permanent residency.
be deaf / hard of hearing (hearing loss 60dB or more in better ear) or have an Auditory Processing Disorder (APD),
submit ALL supporting documents, along with a fully completed application form by the closing dates specified below, or your application will NOT be considered.
where there is a hearing loss, an audiogram report or official letter from physician or audiologist
where there is an Auditory Processing Disorder, an official letter from physician or audiologist confirming the diagnosis of APD
minimum of 2 recent references (issued within the last 12 months) in support of applicant/s (requests by applicant to email or phone the referees not accepted)
summary of qualifications held and record of learning
accountability report for ANY previous funding received from the NFD Trust
ORIGINAL pre-printed bank deposit slip or bank statement showing the official name and account number of applicant (handwritten copies not accepted) which has been officially date stamped and signed by bank staff.
N.B. for legal reasons, this original evidence of bank account information MUST be posted in to our PO box, no scans or photocopies will be accepted

Applicants will be notified of the progress of their application no later than two months after the closing date.
All successful applicants are required to complete and return an 'Acknowledgement of Grant' form on receipt of the funds granted to them, and an Accountability report on completion of their course or activity that the funding was for. Failure to complete and return these documents will result in the applicant being ineligible for consideration for future funding from the NFD Trust.
