Hearing Awareness Month

March is Hearing Awareness Month!

This is an activity-filled month where we pull out all the stops to raise awareness for the Deaf and hard of hearing community.

Join our Take 30 Challenge, book a Hearing Awareness Workshop in your workplace, watch a captioned film under the stars, and much more.

Community Outreach

This year has taught us about the importance of being there for each other.

We have staff waiting on our helpline, and online community of support available to support you.

We have a range of services available to help, and our team members are eager to connect with you if you need to talk.

This Christmas, we are giving away Care Packages to Deaf and hard of hearing Kiwis. The full Care Package includes handy resources and tips, our latest magazine - Hearing Matters, a voucher for a free hearing test with Triton Hearing, hearing aid batteries, and much more. Care Packages are mailed directly to your door.

What We Do

Make Listening Safe

For Kids

To ensure young people are aware of the risks, we have developed the Make Listening Safe Programme that focuses on educating young people about noise-induced hearing loss and how to protect their precious hearing.

Hearing Screening Programme

Kiwi kids are losing their hearing. Levels of youth hearing loss have skyrocketed over the last decade. To combat this, NFDHH is providing free hearing screenings at selected Secondary Schools across New Zealand.

Hearing Accredited Workplaces

11% of working New Zealanders have a hearing loss. The Hearing Accredited Workplace Programme will help your organisation to align your disability & inclusion strategy.

Take Action

There are many ways you can make a difference and get behind the 880,000 New Zealanders of all ages who are Deaf or have a hearing loss.
