Hearing Aid Fund

Hearing aids can have a hugely beneficial impact on being able to connect meaningfully with others.

Sadly, there are many New Zealanders who need hearing aids but can’t afford them. That’s why the National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing has launched the Hearing Aid Fund.

Applications are now open.

Click the button below to check your eligibility and apply for a grant from the Hearing Aid Fund.

Take 30 for Hearing Loss

Hearing loss can significantly impact someone’s life 24/7.

In March 2021, during Hearing Awareness Month, we’re inviting you to walk in the shoes of someone with hearing loss for 30 minutes.

It’s a chance to have fun, learn new communication skills, and raise awareness for the Deaf and hard of hearing community in New Zealand.

Community Meet Ups

This new initiative is an opportunity for our community members to spend quality time with people who understand the unique perspective of being Deaf, or living with a hearing loss, in a supportive environment. Sign up to be kept in the loop about our upcoming events.

Hearing Awareness Month

Hearing Awareness Month is all about putting a spotlight on hearing health and raising awareness for the experiences of 880,000+ New Zealanders who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. In March 2021, NFDHH are looking forward to an action packed and fun-filled month, including Running Round the Bays.

Volunteering offers a great opportunity to meet new people and support a worthy cause while having fun and making a difference. Many of our volunteers have been touched by hearing loss in some way, whether it’s personally or because they have a friend or loved one who is living with hearing loss.  Join our team, sign up today.

Make a Donation

The National Foundation for Deaf & Hard of Hearing receives no Government funding for our programmes or services.  Make a donation today, and your contribution will enable us to continue to provide vital services and programmes to support Deaf and hard of hearing New Zealanders.

A Gift in Your Will

Making a bequest is one of the most valuable contributions you can make to our work. Your gift will continue giving beyond your own lifetime, working to ensure New Zealanders with hearing loss are supported. NFDHH takes our responsibility to those who make a bequest seriously, and work hard to ensure we invest your donations prudently to deliver long-term benefits to New Zealander's with hearing loss.
