Hearing Matters Magazine
September 2020 Issue
It's been a tumultuous year, but because of our amazing community we have been able to accomplish incredible things.
During COVID-19 restrictions, we created new offerings in response to requests from our members. These included our Hearing Aid Battery Store, and the Hearing Aid Fund, which provides essential technology to New Zealanders.
Topics covered in this issue include:
-
How we supported our community during COVID-19, and whether New Zealand's response was accessible to the Deaf and hard of hearing.
-
Our Youth Advisory Group, four talented young people who are passionate about supporting other young Kiwis who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
-
Our Hearing Screening Programme, and it's continued expansion across the country.
-
The integration of Te Reo Māori and NZSL, and why this was such important work.
